Project Introduction

In this 600t/d gold beneficiation project in Malaysia, the raw ore is mainly characterized by recoverable gold as the core valuable element, with trace contents of associated impurities such as copper, lead, zinc and arsenic that do not affect the leaching process. The ore belongs to the conventional gold-bearing ore type with stable properties, which is suitable for the carbon-in-leach (CIL) cyanidation process.


The person in charge of the mine emphasized that the gold mining industry is highly time-sensitive. "One day of shutdown means a loss of 2-3kg of gold-bearing materials, which will disrupt the entire production rhythm and cause considerable economic losses." Therefore, the stability, efficiency and rapid commissioning of the production line have become the core demands of the mine owner.


Grinding & Classification Process

Based on the comprehensive analysis of ore properties and the actual production demand of the mine, Xinhai designed a targeted process flow for the project: one-stage grinding, two-stage classification and one-stage classification concentration, finally obtaining ore pulp with a fineness of -200 mesh accounting for 85%, which lays a solid foundation for efficient gold leaching.

 

This process flow is clear and well-defined, with critical control points that help maintain consistent grinding fineness and pulp density, reducing system fluctuations and laying a solid foundation for stable leaching operations. 


Gold CIL Leaching Process

Adopting the CIL cyanidation leaching process, integrating leaching and adsorption, the project realizes synchronous operation of gold dissolution and activated carbon adsorption, which simplifies the process flow compared with the traditional CIP process and reduces the capital occupation caused by gold retention in the production link. Under the optimized process parameters: the ore pulp fineness is controlled at -200 mesh 85%, the pulp concentration is maintained at 40%, the lime dosage is 7kg/t to adjust the pulp pH to 10.5-11.0 for cyanide protection, the sodium cyanide dosage is 4kg/t, and the total leaching-adsorption time is 24h, the final gold leaching rate reaches 93.5%.

 

Compared with the traditional cyanidation leaching process, the CIL process designed by Xinhai shortens the production cycle by 8h per batch on the premise of ensuring the leaching rate, effectively improving the daily processing capacity. Meanwhile, the process is equipped with a complete tailings treatment system. The leaching tailings are dehydrated by filter press, and the recycled water is reused in the production process. The detection results show that the leaching toxicity indexes of cyanide, arsenic and other harmful substances in the tailings meet the local environmental protection standards, realizing the unification of production efficiency and environmental safety.
